Answer : One day a horse dealer came to see Akbar, the greatest Mughal Emperor. The emperor did not know him but paid him a large sum of money as advance for horses. The man went away saying that he would bring the horses within a few days. Birbal was later asked to make a list of fools. Two months passed but the horse dealer did not come. Soldiers were sent all around to search for him. But nobody could trace him, On the other hand, being ordered by the emperor Birbal started making lists of fools of the empire. He consulted with some wise men of the empire regarding the list. After long consultation and discussion, Birbal made a list of fools. It was seen that the name of the emperor topped the list. According to him the person who can give a lot of money to an unknown person for buying horses is the greatest fool of the empire. The list was produced before the emperor. The emperor saw the list, realized his fault and got ashamed for doing so.

বঙ্গানুবাদ : একদিন এক ঘোড়া ব্যবসায়ী সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ মুঘল সম্রাট আকবরকে দেখতে আসেন। সম্রাট তাকে চিনতেন না কিন্তু ঘোড়ার জন্য অগ্রিম হিসেবে তাকে মোটা অঙ্কের টাকা দিয়েছিলেন। লোকটি কয়েকদিনের মধ্যে ঘোড়াগুলো নিয়ে আসবে বলে চলে গেল। পরে বীরবলকে বোকাদের তালিকা তৈরি করতে বলা হয়। দুই মাস পেরিয়ে গেলেও ঘোড়ার ব্যাপারী আসেনি। তার খোঁজে চারদিকে সেনা পাঠানো হয়েছে। কিন্তু কেউ তার সন্ধান করতে পারেনি, অন্যদিকে সম্রাট বীরবলের নির্দেশে সাম্রাজ্যের বোকাদের তালিকা তৈরি করতে থাকে। তালিকার বিষয়ে তিনি সাম্রাজ্যের কিছু জ্ঞানী ব্যক্তির সাথে পরামর্শ করেন। দীর্ঘ আলোচনা ও আলোচনার পর বীরবল বোকার তালিকা তৈরি করলেন। দেখা গেল তালিকায় শীর্ষে রয়েছে সম্রাটের নাম। তাঁর মতে, যে ব্যক্তি ঘোড়া কেনার জন্য অপরিচিত ব্যক্তিকে অনেক টাকা দিতে পারে সে সাম্রাজ্যের সবচেয়ে বড় বোকা। তালিকাটি সম্রাটের সামনে উপস্থাপন করা হয়েছিল। সম্রাট তালিকাটি দেখলেন, নিজের দোষ বুঝতে পারলেন এবং তা করার জন্য লজ্জিত হলেন।
