A Visit to a Place of Historical Interest.
Answer : I have long been cherishing the desire to pay a visit to Mainamoti, a place of historical importance and interest. In fact, I read a lot about the places situated in the district of Comilla but I have never been there before. The opportunity came a few days back. It was he middle of January when a couple of my friends planned to visit Mainamoti and invited me to join them. I gladly accepted the invitation, We went there by a hired microbus. We leit home for the longed place at about 8 am. The journey took about 2 hours from Dhaka. The weather was nice.
There was no traffic jam. We reached Mainamoti at about 10 am. There are quite a few Buddhist monasteries in and around Mainamoti. Shalban Bihar is one of them which we visited. The relics and remnants found in several monasteries have been preserved in the Mainamoti museum. We went there and saw many relics that reminded us of the story of Buddhist religion and many rulers of the past. The Mainamoti museum is the place that impressed me most. We stayed there for about 6 hours. I enjoyed the visit of Mainamoti very much and got back home safe and sound at about 6.00 pm. The journey was both thrilling and rewarding for me and my friends.

বঙ্গানুবাদ : আমি দীর্ঘদিন ধরে ঐতিহাসিক গুরুত্ব এবং আগ্রহের জায়গা ময়নামতিতে পরিদর্শন করার আকাঙ্ক্ষাকে লালন করছি। আসলে, আমি কুমিল্লা জেলায় অবস্থিত জায়গাগুলি সম্পর্কে অনেক কিছু পড়েছি তবে এর আগে আমি আগে কখনও ছিলাম না। কিছুদিন আগে সুযোগটি এসেছিল। তিনি জানুয়ারীর মাঝামাঝি সময়ে যখন আমার বেশ কয়েকজন বন্ধু ময়নামোটী দেখার পরিকল্পনা করেছিল এবং আমাকে তাদের সাথে যোগ দেওয়ার জন্য আমন্ত্রণ জানিয়েছিল। আমি আনন্দের সাথে আমন্ত্রণটি গ্রহণ করেছিলাম, আমরা সেখানে ভাড়া করা মাইক্রোবাসে গিয়েছিলাম। আমরা সকাল 8 টার দিকে দীর্ঘস্থায়ী জায়গার জন্য বাড়িতে উঠি। যাত্রাটি ঢাকা থেকে প্রায় ২ ঘন্টা সময় নেয়। আবহাওয়া ছিল চমৎকার।
ট্র্যাফিক জ্যাম ছিল না। আমরা সকাল দশটার দিকে ময়নামতি পৌঁছেছি। ময়নামোটির আশেপাশে বেশ কয়েকটি বৌদ্ধ বিহার রয়েছে। শালবন বিহার তাদের মধ্যে একটি যা আমরা পরিদর্শন করেছি। বেশ কয়েকটি বিহারে পাওয়া ধ্বংসাবশেষ এবং অবশিষ্টাংশ ময়নামতি জাদুঘরে সংরক্ষণ করা হয়েছে। আমরা সেখানে গিয়ে বহু প্রতীক দেখেছি যা আমাদের বৌদ্ধ ধর্ম এবং অতীতের অনেক শাসকের গল্পের স্মরণ করিয়ে দেয়। ময়নামতি জাদুঘরটি সেই জায়গা যা আমাকে সবচেয়ে বেশি প্রভাবিত করেছিল। আমরা সেখানে প্রায় 6 ঘন্টা থাকি। আমি ময়নামোটির দর্শনটি খুব উপভোগ করেছি এবং সন্ধ্যা 6.00 টা নাগাদ বাড়ি ফিরে নিরাপদে এবং সুর পেয়েছি। আমার এবং আমার বন্ধুদের জন্য এই যাত্রাটি রোমাঞ্চকর এবং ফলপ্রসূ ছিল।
