Take my cordial love and best wishes. Your last letter gave me immense pleasure. In your letter you wanted to know about my country.
You may have known that Bangladesh is situated in the south part of Asia. It is a beautiful country with an area of 1.47,570 square kilometres. The number of total population is about 16 million. It is bordered by India from three sides-west, north, east. Some parts of its east is bordered by Myanmar, and the Bay of Bengal is to the south. It is a densely populated country. About 1035 people live per square kilometre. Rice is the staple food. People also eat fish, meat, wheat, vegetables etc. Almost all the people speak in Bangla. There are some tribal languages English is taught and used as a second language. More than 90 percent of the population are Muslims. Hinduism is the second religion. There are also Christians, Buddhists, etc. The weather of the country is mainly warm and dry. It has mainly three seasons- summer, rainy season and winter. The monsoon causes a heavy rainfall in the rainy season. The country is rich in natural resources. Of them natural gas is the main. The country is naturally very beautiful. The natural heritage of the country is the Sundarbans. It is the only mangrove forest in the world. Cox's Bazar is the longest sea-beach of the world. There are many renowned and eminent poets in our country. Kazi Nazrul Islam is the national poet. The culture of our country is mainly based on folk culture.

আপনি হয়তো জানেন যে বাংলাদেশ এশিয়ার দক্ষিণ অংশে অবস্থিত। এটি একটি সুন্দর দেশ যার আয়তন 1.47,570 বর্গ কিলোমিটার। মোট জনসংখ্যার সংখ্যা প্রায় 16 মিলিয়ন। এটি পশ্চিম, উত্তর, পূর্ব তিন দিক থেকে ভারতের সীমানা। এর পূর্বের কিছু অংশ মায়ানমার এবং দক্ষিণে বঙ্গোপসাগর অবস্থিত। এটি একটি ঘনবসতিপূর্ণ দেশ। প্রতি বর্গকিলোমিটারে প্রায় 1035 জন মানুষ বাস করে। ভাত প্রধান খাদ্য। মানুষ মাছ, মাংস, গম, শাকসবজি ইত্যাদিও খায়। প্রায় সবাই বাংলায় কথা বলে। কিছু উপজাতি ভাষা আছে ইংরেজি শেখানো হয় এবং দ্বিতীয় ভাষা হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়। জনসংখ্যার 90 শতাংশেরও বেশি মুসলমান। হিন্দু ধর্ম দ্বিতীয় ধর্ম। এছাড়াও খ্রিস্টান, বৌদ্ধ প্রভৃতি ধর্মাবলম্বী রয়েছে। দেশের আবহাওয়া প্রধানত উষ্ণ ও শুষ্ক। এখানে প্রধানত তিনটি ঋতু- গ্রীষ্ম, বর্ষা এবং শীতকাল। বর্ষাকালে বর্ষায় প্রবল বৃষ্টিপাত হয়। দেশটি প্রাকৃতিক সম্পদে সমৃদ্ধ। এর মধ্যে প্রাকৃতিক গ্যাসই প্রধান। দেশটা প্রকৃতিগতভাবে অনেক সুন্দর। দেশের প্রাকৃতিক ঐতিহ্য সুন্দরবন। এটি পৃথিবীর একমাত্র ম্যানগ্রোভ বন। পৃথিবীর দীর্ঘতম সমুদ্র সৈকত কক্সবাজার। আমাদের দেশে অনেক স্বনামধন্য ও বিশিষ্ট কবি আছেন। কাজী নজরুল ইসলাম জাতীয় কবি। আমাদের দেশের সংস্কৃতি মূলত লোকসংস্কৃতির উপর নির্ভরশীল।
