সম্প্রসারিত ভাব : সৃষ্টিকর্তা মানুষকে শক্তি ও বুদ্ধিমত্তাি প্রদান করেছেন পরিশ্রম করার জন্য। বিনা পরিশ্রমে কোন কিছু অর্জন করা যায় না। কথায় বলে, 'পরিশ্রম ধন আনে, পুণ্যে আনে সুখ'। পরিশ্রম দ্বারা মানুষ সৌভাগ্যের স্বর্ণ শিখরে আরোহন করতে পারে। পরিশ্রমী ব্যক্তি আত্মনির্ভরশীল ও সাবলম্বী হয়। বিদ্যা, যশ-মান প্রতিপত্তি ইত্যাদি সব কিছুর মূলে রয়েছে পরিশ্রমী ব্যক্তির নিরলস সাধনা। সব ধন সম্পদ বা ঐশ্বর্যের উৎপত্তি হয়েছে পরিশ্রম থেকে। শ্রম দ্বারা ভাগ্যের চাকা এমনভাবে ঘােরানাে সম্ভব যা শ্রম বিমুখ মানুষের কাছে অলৌকিক মনে হবে। পৃথিবীর যে জাতি যত বেশি পরিশ্রমী সে জাতি তত বেশি উন্নত। ডঃ লুৎুর রহমান বলেন, "যে জাতির মানুষ শ্রমশীল, যারা জ্ঞান সাধনায় আনন্দ অনুভব করে, তারা জগতে শ্রেষ্ঠ স্থান অধিকার করে। পৃথিবীর শ্রেষ্ঠ মনীষীগণ তাদের নিরলস সাধনা ও শ্রম দ্বারা খ্যাতির শ্রেষ্ঠ আসনে অধিষ্ঠিত হয়েছেন। প্রাণী জগতের ক্ষুদ্র কীট মৌমাছিও তার নিরলস শ্রম ও আত্মত্যাগের মাধ্যমে মধুপূর্ণ মৌচাক তৈরি করতে সমর্থ হয়। যে কৃষক রোদ-বৃষ্টি সহ্য করে কঠোর পরিশ্রম করতে পারে, সে-ই কেবল সােনার ফসল পেতে পারে পক্ষান্তরে, যে ব্যক্তি শ্রম বিমুখ হয়ে দুটি হাত গুটিয়ে কেবল বসে থাকে সে তার ভাগ্যকেও নিষ্ক্রিয় করে রাখে। ব্যক্তি কিংবা জাতীয় জীবনে সে কোন অবদান রাখতে পারে না। তাই জীবনে উৎকর্ষ ঘটাতে পরিশ্রমের বিকল্প নেই।
