International Mother's Day.
Answer : Mother's Day is observed now throughout the world to hold the mothers in high esteem and express gratitude for the hardship they stand in rearing up the children. The people of Britain along with most of the countries of the world celebrate the day on the fourth Sunday in May. On the other hand, the Americans with some other countries celebrate the day on the 2nd Sunday in May. Ms Julia Ward Howe and Ms Anna Jarvis endeavoured a lot to establish Mother's Day throughout the world. Through their effort Mother's Day came into existence. Mother's day was first announced as a formal holiday in the USA in 1914 during the reign of President Woodrow Wilson. Since then people around the world have been celebrating Mother's Day with enthusiasm and devotion. Various discussion programmes and seminars and symposia are organised by government and non-government organisations. Children at home wish their mothers a happy life. TV channels telecast special programmes and the dailies publish special supplements to mark the day. We should pay respect and great love to our mothers.
