মূলভাব : আত্মশক্তি মানুষের একটি মহৎ গুণ। এর অভাবে মানুষ পরনির্ভরশীল হয়ে পড়ে। আর শিক্ষা মানুষকে আত্মশক্তিতে বলীয়ান করে তোলে।

সম্প্রসারিত ভাব : আত্মশক্তি মানুষের মহৎ গুণগুলোর মধ্যে অন্যতম। আত্মশক্তির বলে বলীয়ান মানুষ নিজের শক্তির উপর নির্ভরশীল হয়ে স্বাধীনভাবে মতামত প্রকাশ করতে ও কাজকর্ম করতে পারে। আত্মশক্তি না থাকলে মানুষ নিজের উপর বিশ্বাস হারিয়ে ফেলে। তখন সামান্য কাজেও তাকে অন্যের সাহায্যের জন্য অপেক্ষা করে বসে থাকতে হয়। সবকিছুতেই তাদের যেন সংশয় কাজ করে। অন্যদিকে শিক্ষার আলোয় আলোকিত ব্যক্তিদের দৃষ্টি বহুদূরে প্রসারিত। তাদেরকে জীবনের বিভিন্ন সমস্যা সমাধানের জন্য পরমুখাপেক্ষী হতে হয় না। নিজের শক্তিকেই তারা সবচেয়ে বড় হাতিয়ার মনে করে। আর এসবকিছুই সম্ভব প্রকৃত শিক্ষায় শিক্ষিত হয়ে আত্মশক্তি অর্জনের মাধ্যমে। কিন্তু এ আত্মশক্তি মানুষের মধ্যে সুপ্ত অবস্থায় বিরাজ করে। তাকে সঠিকভাবে সঠিক সময়ে আবিষ্কার করে নিতে হয়। যারা উপযুক্ত শিক্ষা অর্জন করে, তারা তা পারে। আর যারা মূর্খ তারা তার সন্ধান পায় না। পরনির্ভরশীল না হয়ে স্বাধীনভাবে কাজ করার জন্য মানুষ শিক্ষা অর্জন করে থাকে। শিক্ষা তাকে কাজের যোগ্য করে তোলে এবং যোগ্যতা থাকলে সে দৃঢ় মনোবলের অধিকারী হয়। হাদীসে আছে, ‘যে শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করে তার মৃত্যু নেই।’
মন্তব্য : শিক্ষা মানুষকে যে কোন ভাল ও সৎকর্মের যোগ্য করে তোলে। এর জন্য সর্বাগ্রে যে জিনিসটি প্রয়োজন তা হল দৃঢ় মনোবল আর সুকঠিন একাগ্রতা।

In the hadith, there is no death for those who receive education.
