ভোগে নয়, ত্যাগেই মনুষ্যত্বের বিকাশ।
মূলভাব : মনুষ্যত্বই মানুষের পরিচায়ক। আর ত্যাগের মহিমাই পারে মানুষের এ মনুষ্যত্বের উৎকর্ষ ও বিকাশ ঘটাতে।

সম্প্রসারিত ভাব : জগৎ সংসারে ভোগ ও ত্যাগ দুটি বিপরীতমুখী দিক। ভোগ ও ত্যাগের দরজা সবার জন্যই উন্মুক্ত। মানুষ সৃষ্টির সেরা জীব। মানুষকে সৃষ্টির সেরা জীব বলার কারণ হচ্ছে তার মনুষ্যত্ব। মনুষ্যত্যের কল্যাণেই মানুষ অন্যান্য প্রাণী থেকে আলাদা এবং শ্রেষ্ঠ। মানুষ জন্মগত ভাবেই মনুষ্যত্ব লাভ করে। তবে মানুষকে তার স্বীয় চেষ্টায় এ মনুষ্যত্বের বিকাশ ঘটাতে হয়। মনুষ্যত্বের বিকাশ ঘটানোর মধ্যেই মানব জীবনের সার্থকতা নিহিত। ভোগের মাধ্যমে মনুষ্যত্বের বিকাশ ঘটে না। ভোগ মানুষকে জড়িয়ে ফেলে পঙ্কিলতা, গ্লানি ও কালিমার সাথে। এটি শারীরিক বৃদ্ধি ঘটাতে পারে কিন্তু মানসিক উৎকর্য তথা মনুষ্যত্বের বিকাশ ঘটাতে পারে না। পক্ষান্তরে, ত্যাগের দ্বারাই মনুষ্যত্ব বিকশিত ও উৎকর্ষিত হয়। ত্যাগ মানুষকে নিয়ে যায় মনুষ্যত্বের স্বর্ণ শিখরে। যারা ভোগের মধ্যে নিজেদের ব্যস্ত রাখে পৃথিবীতে তাদের কোন সম্মান নেই। কিন্তু যারা ত্যাগের মহিমায় ভাস্বর মানুষ তাঁদেরকে মৃত্যুর পরেও ভুলে না। অর্থাৎ তাঁরা অমরত্ব লাভ করেন। বিশ্বের শ্রেষ্ঠ মানব হযরত মুহম্মদ (স)-এর চরিত্র ত্যাগের এক উজ্জ্বল দৃষ্টান্ত। ত্যাগের মাধ্যমেই তাঁর পূর্ণ মনুষ্যত্ব তথা মানবিক গুণাবলি ফুটে উঠেছে।
মন্তব্য : ত্যাগের মধ্যেই মানব জীবনের সার্থকতা। তাই ত্যাগই হওয়া উচিত মানুষের প্রধান আদর্শ ।
The development of humanity is not in enjoyment, but in sacrifice.
Principle : Humanity is the definition of human. And the glory of sacrifice can improve and develop the humanity of people.
Expanded sense : Enjoyment and renunciation are opposites in the world. The door of pleasure and sacrifice is open to all. Man is the best creature in creation. The reason why man is called the best creature in creation is his humanity. Human beings are different and superior to other animals in the goodness of humanity. Humans are born human. However, people have to develop this humanity by their own efforts. The meaning of human life lies in the development of humanity. Humanity is not developed through enjoyment. Enjoyment binds people with corruption, gloom and kalima. It can lead to physical growth but not mental excellence or development of humanity. On the other hand, it is through sacrifice that humanity develops and excels. Sacrifice takes man to the golden peak of humanity. Those who occupy themselves with enjoyment have no honor in the world. But those who shine in the glory of sacrifice are not forgotten even after death. That is, they get immortality. The best human being in the world, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is a shining example of sacrifice. It is through sacrifice that his full humanity and human qualities have emerged.
Comment : The meaning of human life lies in sacrifice. So sacrifice should be the main ideal of people.
